As you walk down the streets of Old Dhaka you are fascinated by what you see. Wherever you look you see people involved in many interesting activities. Everyone is busy with their own work. Some of them are busy making shakha’s (bangles that Hindu women wear), some are busy fixing motor parts, some are taking pictures through pinhole camera and some are making kites.

And as you keep walking, the smell of biriyani hits your nostrils and before you know, you start walking towards the direction from which the smell is coming.Having just convinced yourself that you are indeed very hungry and biriyani is the thing that you need, your eyes see a man pick two glasses above his eye level and pour white thick liquid from one glass to the other. All of a sudden you remember how thirsty you are and that you simply need to get a glass of that particular liquid,popularly known as lassi.

Old Dhaka is a very happening place. The different professions of Old Dhaka each have a story to tell,a history to give and a traditon to show. Using this blog as a platform I, Raisa Rasheeka, a student of Media and Communication of Independent University,Bangladesh, want to inform people about these professions.
